Hechi Bama International Health Tourism School is a municipal secondary vocational tourism school. It is located in the   county seat of Bama, with an area of about 28 acres. With beautiful campus and profound cultural background and achievements, this school is an ideal place to cultivate professionals for Hechi tourism.

I.  How  the school was founded

    In 2013, the government of  Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region put forward a regional tourism development plan ---- “Building Bama Longevity and Health International Tourism Region”. This region is actually a tourism belt which includes six counties: Bama, Donglan, Fengshan, Tian’e, Du’an and Dahua.  The government  intends to make it the third tourism region of Guangxi, following Guilin Region and Beihai Region.

    With the development of Bama Tourism Region, a large number of tourism professionals are needed, and it is extremely   urgent to cultivate enough tourism professionals. Therefore, in March, 2014, the City Government of Hechi City decided to set  up a new school: Hechi Bama International Health Tourism School. The new school is actually founded on the base of  Hechi Bama Nomal School for Nationalities. On May, 20^th, 2014, Hechi Bama International Health Tourism School was formally founded. The new school is mainly in the charge of  Hechi City Education Bureau. Since then, Bama International Tourism Region has had its own base to cultivate its local tourism professionals.

II.  Teaching facilities

   The school possesses all kinds of first-class teaching facilities, including a teaching building, a tourism comprehensive building,  five student apartment buildings, a multifunction comprehensive building,  seven tourism training rooms, a library, four computer classrooms, two dance training halls, a plastic playground, broadband network and so on. The school provides the students with favorable learning and living conditions.

    At present, the construction of tourism training base has begun to take shape. There are seven top-class training rooms. They are circular-screen tourist guide training room, tea art training room, housekeeping service training room, restaurant service training room, etiquette training room, cooking training room, makeup training room. According to the teaching needs, more training rooms will be constructed in 2017. Besides, a hotel training building is being built.

III.  Teaching staff, tourism majors and total students

    The school has enough  teachers who are qualified and excellent. In total, there are 166 teachers. Among them, 3 are senior teachers, 90% possess bachelor degree or master degree, more than 30% are double-professionally-titled teachers. All these teachers  are learned and master consummate professional skills.

    So far, the school has established six majors: tourism service and management major, tour guide service major, high star-rated hotel service and management major, preschool education major，nutrition and cooking major, folk music and dance major. There are 1,100 students at school in total.

IV.  Cooperation in running school, the training of employees for local enterprises and the prospect of the school development.

   With the approval of Guangxi Education Department, Hechi Bama International Health Tourism School join hands with Guilin Tourism Institute in running the school. The pattern is “2+3”. That is to say, the students spend two years studying the basic courses in Bama International Health Tourism School. After graduation, they can go to Guilin Tourism Institute for further education. After three years of full-time study, they will graduate as junior college students. Meanwhile, the school cooperates with some local enterprises in training students’ working skills.  For example, it has signed an agreement with Shouxiang International Tourism Group. The agreement mainly includes curriculum establishment, professional training, teamwork construction and so on. These measures provide students with strong guarantee in students’ employment.

    Besides, the school also trains employees for local tourism companies. The training items include  countryside  tours, hotel service, guide service, etiquette service, folk songs and ethnic dancing.  During the period of “the 13th Five Year Plan”, the school plans to train 10,000 person-times each year.

So far, the school is planning to expand 69  acres as a new campus in Bama County. According to the plan, the school will be upgraded to a full-time college.

(Postscript: Hechi Bama Normal School For Nationalities was founded in October,1957. It is one of the first three normal schools for nationalities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region . Over the past 59 years, it has cultivated more than 20,000 qualified teachers or administrative staff for Hechi City, Baise City and some other regions. It has been honored by the government of Guangxi as “Civilized School”, “The Green Civilized Garden for Teenagers”, “ The Advanced School in Moral Education”, “An Excellent School for Art and P.E.
